When Mars Rules the Nativity (Birth Chart)
In Traditional or Hellenistic Astrology Mars is the ruler of both Scorpio and of Aries. This is because they had yet to discover Pluto during this period. You will find that there are notable differences in the native’s expression even though the ruling planet may be the same.
This means those with Scorpio Ascendent (rising sign) and those with Aries Ascendent will exude some differences as well as similarities in their persona and how they navigate the world. Today we will look at some of the similarities. Read on to learn more…
Generally, when Mars rules the chart there will be a sense of warrior spirit within these individuals. They may seem intimidating, harsh or domineering when you meet them. Mars individuals may have issues with violence or have tempers; this isn’t to say all of them commit violent acts or act out aggressively as we learn in astrology these things can be very internal and will stay bubbling below the surface never to be seen by the outer world.
Mars as the ruler will not be bossed around and will likely stand up for themselves. They won’t allow others to dominate them, and this may cause them to become argumentative.
Both expressions show bravery but in different ways. Scorpio is more about psychological bravery, digging into the depths of the psyche of themselves as well as others…. show me your trauma and let’s examine its cause. Aries is more the daredevil and therefore can be pioneering in things such as extreme sports…. skydiving, anyone?
